Natural Mosquito and Bug Repellents and Treatments

This list is a combined summary of the frequently reported remedies. I did not try all of them. This list is provided for informational purpose only.

Repellents for the Skin

Rubbing garlic over skin…

Rubbing vinegar

Rubbing dish soap over skin

Rub citronella oil on exposed areas or burn citronella candles near you.

Apply camphor oil (dissolved with water?) on skin…

Mouthwash, Listerine applied to the skin?

Dryer sheets rubbed over skin

Repellents for the Outdoors or Indoors

Place camphor tablets in a cup of water and keep in your room, mosquitoes will keep away !

Mosquitoes hate banana trees.  Plant them around the area where you hang out or sit outside. Also works for fleas.

Keep Mosquitoes away…..
Put Amber colored mouth wash in a spray bottle(generic brand will do)
Spray area(patio,pool,camping ground etc..) 30 mins before hanging out in the area
REPEAT EVERY 3 DAYS

Castor Bean Plants repel the mosquito. They can be planted from a seed, grow very large in 6 weeks, very tropical. The entire plant is very poisonous though. Remove the flowers before they go to seed.

Bite Treatment:

Rub cut onion on the bite.

Rub Garlic

Rub Vinegar

Rub Lemon juice

Rub soda dissolved with water

Best Natural Remedies Sold:

Badger Anti-Bug Balm.   Ingredients include Citronella oil, Cedar oil, Lemongrass, Rosemary oil, Geranium oil.

Repel Lemon Eucalyptus Repellent from Repel.com – this is oil extract from the Lemon Eucalyptus plant.
